BRISTOL TOWNSHIP, Pa. -- Police said that Mario Caracoza of Bensalem held up a Bank of America branch just before 11 a.m. Monday and then made a costly detour to a restaurant for pancakes.

"He came in and he was ordering pancakes off the kids' menu. And the next thing you know we're surrounded by cops and he ran into the bathroom, " said Kimberly Sermarini, a waitress at the Sunrise Diner. "He just pointed here and it was like, 'I want five pancakes.' I said, 'But that's a kids' menu,' and he was, like, 'I want five of them.'"

As other customers dined, the robber asked the diner owner, Tayfen Yilmaz, for a favor.

"He sits down, orders some food and he asked me to call a cab. Then I called the cab, and I asked him, like, 'Where do you want to go?' He said, 'Trenton,'" Yilmaz said.Customer Joe Bonfig saw it all go down.

"I saw them bring him out in handcuffs. They found the money in the bathroom," Bonfig said.

After he was caught and handcuffed, Caracoza was quickly identified by the victims of the robbery. One person saw Caracoza leave the bank and go directly to the Sunrise Diner.

According to the criminal complaint, Caracoza made off with more than $4,000 from the Bank of America branch.

Caracoza is being held on $500,000 bail. He has been charged with robbery, theft and receiving stolen goods
