Dolly Parton Blames Boobs for Backing Out of Tour
HOLLYWOOD, CA (Hollywood Today) 2/12/08 – “Hey, you try wagging these puppies around a while and see if you don’t have back problems.” So said Dolly Parton in an announcement she was canceling a tour as her fabled bust had become a pain in back.







Fans will have to wait a bit longer to see their idol, as the “Nine-to-Five” singer pulled out of a planned 13-show concert series, originally set to begin on February 28 in Minneapolis.

The shows were part of the promotional tour for Parton’s upcoming studio release “Backwoods Barbie,” according to publicist Marcee Rondan.

Parton, 62, has always been known for her curvaceous figure. In a statement regarding her decision, she joked about her large bust.

She said: “I know I have been breaking my neck and bending over backwards trying to get my new ‘Backwoods Barbie’ CD and world tour together, but I didn’t mean to hurt myself doing it.”

Doctors have suggested up to eight weeks of R&R to speed her recovery along, and Parton assured ticket holders that she’ll hit the stage again shortly after.

“I can’t wait to get back out there,” she said.

The cancelled dates will be rescheduled for April and May. Meanwhile, “Backwoods Barbie” is still slated for release on Tuesday, February 26.

Here’s a parting shot from Parton herself, who once described her breasts while dancing as looking like “two pigs wrestling under a blanket.”
