Jackson apologizes for 'crude' Obama remarks - CNN.com The remarks came Sunday as Jackson was talking to a fellow interviewee, UnitedHealth Group executive Dr. Reed V. Tuckson. An open microphone picked up Jackson whispering, "See, Barack's been talking down to black people ... I want to cut his nuts off." Jackson told CNN's "Situation Room" that he didn't realize the microphone was on. "It was very private," Jackson said, adding that if "any hurt or harm has been caused to his campaign, I apologize." An Obama campaign spokesman, Bill Burton, said that the senator from Illinois "of course accepts Rev. Jackson's apology." Why does he "of course" accept Rev. Jacksons apology? Because he is afraid to prove or accept that Jesse Jackson is a Racist bully just like Al Sharpton and the rest of the Because I'm a minority crowd? The Rev. Al Sharpton, president of the civil rights group National Action Network, said Jackson's remarks were "most unfortunate," adding he was happy that Jackson apologized. "I hope people will remember the great work he's done in this country as one assesses this last incident," Sharpton said in a statement. Sharpton said people "must be careful not to segregate Sen. Obama and impose some litmus test that is unfair and unproductive." "We must be very clear that Sen. Obama ... is running for president for all Americans, not just African-Americans -- which is why most Americans have embraced his campaign," Sharpton said. They should be understanding that Obama is not like the Sharptons or Jacksons that choose to selectively champion reverse racist causes. Obama now has before him a chance to show what kind of man he really is, to publicly distance himself from both Jesse Jackson and Al Sharptons Policies, tactics and methods. Don't expect him the use that chance wisely. | ||||

Even though this FISA "compromise" still grants telcom community, which a couple weeks ago he promised to filibuster, it only grants civil immunity and the telcoms can still be brought up on criminal charges. Obviously the Bush administration won't be prosecuting the ones that helped him accomplish the illegal spying this bill legalizes. But the whole reason he says he is now for it is because as President he will prosecute the telcoms. I doubt that will happen because on his way out of the door of the White House Bush will pardon those thus granting any immunity from criminal prosecution as well. What if McCain wins? Make no doubt about it Obama is no different. He's a typical Chicago/DC political. | ||||

He's a pretty Liberal blogger (former Constitutional Lawyer getting his JD in Law from NYU) with a civil libertarian slant. He was semi-supporting Obama, at least on this particular issue, but now I'm not so sure.
