    | kid brings loaded 45 to school Police have charged a sophomore at David Crockett High School in Jonesborough with bringing a weapon to school. Washington County school resource officer Kelly Richardson was doing some paperwork in the school office when a teacher send word that a student might have a gun. Richardson says the 17-year-old boy was standing up when the officer entered the classroom yesterday morning. The deputy took the student to an empty room and asked him if he had anything he shouldn't have. The youth said he had cigarettes, but a pat-down found the pistol in his waistband. The gun was loaded with hollow point bullets and was cocked to fire. The pistol was 45-caliber Ruger semiautomatic. Police are trying to find who owns it and where the youth got it. Richardson says the boy gave several reasons for having it. He was charged with carrying a weapon on school property and is held without bond at the Regional Juvenile Detention Facility. | ||||
