Driver arrested after police say he drove into three men near soccer game (09-14) 14:14 PDT San Jose -- The driver of a White Chevrolet Suburban was arrested Sunday morning after steering toward a soccer game in a city park and striking three people, killing one, San Jose police said. One man died in Hillview Park while two other men were taken to a local hospital. One victim was listed in critical condition and the second man was reported as stable. The man behind the wheel drove into Hillview Park at Berona and Alfred Way just before 9 a.m. and struck the three men in what appeared to be an intentional attack, said San Jose police spokesman Enrique Garcia. The case is being investigated as a homicide. The driver, whose name was not immediately released, fled the scene, but was arrested about an hour later in another part of the city, Garcia said. Police are withholding the name of the deceased man until his family has been notified. | ||||
