No, the affliction you mention is blind faith. The belief in something despite lack of evidence is faith. It isn't always a bad thing as long as I am open to any new evidence that may be discovered. Blind faith is the inability to see the truth even when faced with evidence to the contrary. Creationists who still believe the world is 10,000 years old created in 7 days is an example despite numberous evidence supporting evolution. This is dangerous faith.

Faith in the existence of God is not stupid. Faith in Miracles. Not Stupid. Faith in the United States Government. Very Stupid.

There is no evidence to discount God or Miracles, although both may take a mental leap to accept. There is evidence to support the fact that our government is a bunch of money grabbing assholes. See the difference.

i am not asking for the athiest religon to prove to me that God doesnt exist, i am asking that they prove to me without a doubt that motion can come into existence at random...if they can prove effect with no cause, and therefore disprove Newtons laws of motion, then maybe there is no God......i personally do not believe that motion has existed in the universe for all eternity...i do not believe that the universe could kickstart itself without an outside force acting upon it........i find it funny how athiests like richard dawkins, sam harris, and a growind number of other athiests are beginning to portray such animosity and superiority toward all theists/deists......these "educated" athiests often place all of the problems of human past and present on the shoulders of religion and the ridiculous belief of this God character..."Athiesm is the answer" they say...i do not see a difference in the feelings of animosity/superiority that athiests are beginning to exhibit to that of the exact same feelings which have created every religious war that has occurred on this planet.....the creeds are different yet the feelings and the ideas are the same.."i know the truth and you are inferior and stupid for not seeing it"....its pathetic
