These days I cannot say which party I lay under. The candidates from the last election (Bush vs. Kerry), were hardly individual. Neither could be understood by just their party titles. Kerry with his fickle views, and Bush...well fuck Bush, but I'll leave that for another thread. So I say elimate the two party system all together. Make the candidates actually have to be judged by their true views. Too many americans these days vote solely on the title of a party, and are too apathetic to care about who they are giving the most power in the world too (even though I believe that the seat of president is now only a a position that to post in the media, and show to the people that "this is who you're following", when in reality, the decisions he makes are made by the puppet masters behind him; off camera). But that too is for another thread. So tell me, two party system yay or nay?

Only voters determine whether a two party system stays or goes. I personally don't look a long party lines. I look at the issues. For example, I am a Libertarian, and in the upcoming primaries am voting on the Republican Ballot, for Ron Paul.

But do you believe that it should still be the system we use. Take in mind the millions of other americans that vote just to vote. Many of which have no clue what so ever in what they are doing. And those tards make up quite the majority.

I am in full support of a parliament system, because that way I can vote based on what I want rather than the lesser of the 2 evils scenario. I think if we as Americans had a parliament, instead of a congress right now, we could get more done than, at that level, than we do now. I have watched a lot of the British parliament on C-span and it is really interesting and all of the parties are represented and they get so many seats based on the number of votes they get. kinda like a house of reps for political parties, but they get seats based on votes and not population.

Government should be simple and not any more complicated than it has to. I think the founders (most of them) had it right, but they also expected it as George Washington said after the revolution that there should be a revolution by the people every 20 years against our government to keep our country free (something along those lines.). I think the parliamentary style of government can be, and is, taken advantage of just as easily. It's really about who the people elect, and whether they are qualified to lead a free country, and they have proven time and time again, that they are not, and have proven over and over again the voting American public to be fools. Simple as that. Who cares about parties? Who cares about forms of government? Just stop electing giant douches, and turd sandwiches.

Just as I don't think the government should be supporting a two party system, I do not think that it should be dismantling it either. Americans are two stupid to look at a third party. its our own damn fault. The government should not be responsible for fixing human stupidity.

This would be the most intelligent way to cast your votes, but the obvious drawback to this plan is the wicked money machine that drives the bigger candidates. They easily buy and influence the weak minded with a slick marketing campaign while keeping their true agenda hidden.

There is nothing that says "stupid" more then blindly voting along party lines.

Good point, (Welcome Back Slutter, where have you been?) I don't believe it is even possible to attempt to fix human stupidity.

Medical advances, and human rights issues are interfering with natural selection and evolution of the human species. The human gene pool is becoming corrupt. And although this is far from anything other than a personal opinion, I believe there is a widening gap between the intelligent and the stupid people on the planet. There seems to be an increasing number of Dumbasses around. (This is in no way a reference to ShiVers, but as ScaryMoose would say, if the shoe fits, I'll meet you at the checkout counter.)
