downloading that zappa discography like we were talking about it in the other thread. it's about 30% done. i looked in the folder and in the folder is each albums folder and in that the songs. i clicked on some of them and here is teh deal. some of them were the correct songs, some were not labeled properly and some started as one and a few seconds later kinda kicked in to the correct song.

is this because it's not done downloading and i only have bits and pieces or is this whole thing fucked up?
i'd hate to download the rest of it if it's fucked and i can't organize 1400 songs.

ever had this problem?

Couldn't tell ya dude. I never fuck with them till they are done as they download all the bits and peices at a time.

just keep downloading boon, I've deleted files from a finished torrent before, still had it on the torrent program, and it downloaded the deleted file for me. I think you'll be okay. As far as a bad download, the best place to find out about that is the site you dled from. most torrent trackers allow people to post about the download, go check out what other people had to say about it.

i've never had a torrent file fuck up trying to play it while it's in a download queue, and i've tried that a lot. torrent assembles random chunks of the file, so it's not unusual to get a completely random compilation when you try and play a release that hasn't been fully downloaded

it probably won't compress much, i'd just burn it in as is across multiple cds, if necessary.

lolz it would probably take a year to compress 9.15 gigs. you should burn each album on a separate CD-RW as a data cd... that's what I do when I'm burning an mp3 cd I want to play in my whip. works like a charm yarrrr

It would take a long time to compress it But, just before work start the compressing when you get home it will be done. I think it's a better way to do it, taht way you can fit it on 2 DVDs.

i'm going to burn each album onto it's own disc as mp3's and then burn the entire catalogue as data....i don't want to lose these.
