attn: burners....new copy protection

hey some kid who is 20 and lives with and off his parents in ABQ, NM, jacks it all day with his fleshlight, and goes by the name pube on an internet forums. the sony big wigs have a new copy protection system called arccos they are putting on some of their dvd's. dvd decrypter and dvd shrink is no longer updated and neither one of them will rip through that protection. actually, maybe it will rip it but shrink won't pick it up.

and download dvd fab decrypter. it's real easy to use and it is updated. that will plow through sony's bullshit. then just shrink with dvd shrink and burn with decrypter like usual.
people have been having problems with stealth, layer cake, madagascar, and a couple other recent ones. i have been able to burn stealth and layer cake using that method.

also, i'm sure you heard that sony has copy protected cd's that will install a rootkit on your rig without you knowing it if you simply try to play a cd on your pc. they are going to get sued out the ass on that. the rootkit installs in the core of windows and searches your somputer for mp3's that it can inject "noise" into. it searches for dvd authoring software and then it calls home and sends that info along with ip to sony. nice huh. it can't be uninstalled either.
one of the big wigs at sony said that most people don't know what a rootkit is so they shouldn't care if it's installed on their rig or not.
couple things i learned from reasing sony's eula on their cd's.
you are not allowed to store any songs on a work computer.
if you rip songs to your hard drive and your house gets broken into and the original cd is stolen you have to delete all songs.
if you move out of the country or file bankruptcy you have to delete all songs.

anyhow, download that ripper and it will help you get past arccos

hey thnx, i spent i bet 10 hrs tryin to figure out what the frick i was doin wrong, turns out i don't have dvd burner lol. but i'm a gettin one and now i know what i'm doin so i'm sure i could burn a dvd in no time at all.

there are a lot of ways but that way is easiest for me.

As soon as they put out one of these new protections someone finds a way to break them. I remember when microsoft came out with the Genuine program, it was cracked within 24 hours.

yep, had that problem last week with stealth, luckilly i found fab and didnt have a problem with it.

I cant wait til the lawsuits are filed against sony for this shit, im definatly getting me a piece

they will always find ways to crack it but i'm afraid it's gonna get more complicated. they are talking about using audio watermarks now. also instead of using software protection they are talking about integrating it right into the hardware. i'm sure in the next couple years when blu ray or hd dvd get huge there will be problems with cracking it but i know i'll be sticking with dvd for a long time. dvd is still gonna be around for 10 years. vhs and dvd coexisted together for a long time and there are people that are just now moving to dvd. all the techie's will make the jump right away but there are millions of people that are content with dvd.
i will continue to rip/burn dvd's and by the time i make the jump to hd there will be an easy way to crack it.

um boon, got a question for you. Has sony made a newer version of arccos or something. Im trying to burn a dvd now from sony, and my girl claimed that she allready made an attempt with fab to do it, and it failed.

Any ideas?

i havent tried this new prog but dvd decrypt couldnt burn blockbusters copy of walk the line and brothers grimm but i burned walk the line retail dvd that i borrowed from my bud. it was wierd.

i burned walk the line, no problems for that one with me. Brothers Grimm on the other hand, is actually one of the dvd's i gave up on, never getting it to work. I think it was an unusual structure or something, dont remember.

The one im working on now is Fun with Dick and Jane. I just uninstalled DVD Fab Decrypter, and downloaded a slightly newer version, so hopefully that will solve the problem.

yeah dude. i've had to add a step recently.

download voblanker. i'll give you a link at the bottom.

rip with dvd decrypter if you can. if not rip with fab. one or the other should rip. after that, instead of opening dvd shrink you're gonna run it through vob blanker first, then dvd shrink and burn.

rip your dvd to wherever and whne you open blanker it will ask for input path. thats the folder where your rip is. output path is where you want it to go. i always create a new folder and name it vob so my output path is vob. after that when you open shrink and you hit open files, browse to vob and it will go through like normal

ok, went to open it in VOB, and got this error message, Video TS.IFO not found

is this due to how Fab copies the audio and video files seperatly

hell, my collection has gotten real deep over the months ive been here and the j.

its well over 150 (and this is being concervative) movies now, yeah, alot of them are chick flicks, but well, i share it with my girl, so i dont really mind.
