Yesterday Socom 3 came out for Ps2. I've been trying to rent it but none of the video stores have it yet. The reason I'm not buying Socom 3 (I have socom 2, and I love it) Is because on the 24th a fucking amazing game is comming out called Battlefield 2: Modern Combat. (for both Playstation 2 and Xbox, but of course the online is free on ps2) fuck xbox :lmao:

lol, anyway, its been in the making for almost 4 years, it will support 24 players online on both consoles and is very similiar to the very popular Battlefield 2 on pc. It's the most popular online first person shooter right now and it just looks fucking dope. Over 50 weapons, over 30 vehicles (land, sea, air) HUGE maps, amazing graphics that really push the limits of the ps2 and xbox. I've read some reviews and there is very little lag even with 24 players all driving tanks and choppers and fucking blowing up shit on huge maps. I suspect this will be the climax for the ps2 at least and will be the best game available for it. It's goin to be very popular and it's not like anything else out there on console. Full clan support, voice chat, everything you need for a fucking great online game. It's like Halo gone crazy.

This game also has certain DESTRUCTABLE terrain. For example, the hole in the ground in the above image was actually blown there. Like you could be online getting hunted down by a sniper, you start running looking for a place to hide, there's no where to go so you just fucking blow the fence up infront of you and run through it. etc. This game is going to be very intense and has impressed me very much just from looking at videos and screenshots and reading about it, it's also very much like battlefield 1942 and battlefield 2 and I love those games. I'm going to pre order mine soon and I know this game is going to pick up real fucking fast and will probably be the best online game for Playstation 2.

Fry Cry is great, do yourself a favor and get it, but its xbox exclusive.

ps2 online flat out sucks compared to XBL

the SOCOM series is one of the few titles that i wish i still had access to a ps2 for, but a third installment in the same generation is a bit repeditive. I wish they held out for the PS3

^ I'm pretty sure there will be more SOCOMs to come on ps3. This new one ads vehicles and the maps are 6 times as large, and you can fit a few more people in a game. It's just like Socom 2 improved. It looks pretty good but socom can get sort of boring and frustrating at times.

I hope they don't do that hole entire math making shit like on Halo 2. It's annoying, I don't want to play people as good as me or better, I want to play everyone so I'm better than the average player. heh.

yeah, i used to play it my friends house all the time, but he sold his ps2 for an xbox last year. It just didnt seem like enough of a change to warrent another game, when theirs allready two out on the system. The ps3 ones should be sick though

i love matchmaking, honestly it was a genious concept, has its flaws, but XBL 360 should fix those problems.

I don't like it 'cause I'm a geek so I'm naturaly good at video games but I just want to play and have fun, not play all serious all the time.

But yes, I use to think it was genious when I played more seriously when it first came out and people weren't even up to level 10 yet.

i wish that they didnt show you your level honestly, that way people would just play and not work towards levels, yet it would still be matching you to relitively equal skilled players. Im 29 right now, havent been playing it lately though, got some new games

I havn't had xbox live in over a year and a half so I'm not as good as I use to be. But my friend brought his and I got to level 16 before he took it back a week later.
