Car...

Hey guy's... Even though I'm already 16 my parents won't let me get a car or my liscense until I turn seventeen, which is May 31'st next year... But I was lookin' around at some cars and I still have'nt decided what I am going to get... I'm thinkin' like maybe an old Volkswagon Beetle. they just stopped makin' the old ones from the 70's in Mexico a year ago... I either want one of those, or an old car, there is a buick skylark down the street from us. black with a tan interior, for $10,500 interior is pretty nice... but idk much about cars, boon I know you do so maybe you could help me out...

Thanks...

Re: Car...

well, you got 10 grand?

about the old school beetle, forget it man..the prices are going up now and you're gonna have to work on it.

my advice, save up like 3 grand and get a used grand am or something to that effect. those are good cars, cylinder and they have some pep. all you need for a first car.

Re: Car...

lmao Kia's are really cheap and pretty good. Insurance is low too, especially on small sedans. I had to buy my first car myself and trust me if you're broke, take what you can get. Just make sure it will get you where you're going.

can't get a antional around here for that price but for 5-6 grand i can get an 87 t-type that is in good, not great but damn good shape all say long. intercooled.

the nationals and the t-type are the same car with a couple differences. the nationals only came in black, had different interior and the badges are different. the t-types came in a few colors. the gnx is also the same but with a bigger turbo and they onl;y made 547 of them

my wife and i have a 2003 kia rio that we got for just under 10k with like 5 miles on the car. bumper to bumper warranty for 60k miles and engine and trans is covered for 100k miles. got 4% interest with zero down. i love that car. i have 30 thousand miles on it and all that needed to be done was a passenger side lower control arm and it was covered under warranty. there is nothing wrong with that car. still on the originol air filter.

fucking great car(s) for the money and the warranty. since i got hurt i can't fix my shit anymore so it was important that i get a car that i would not have to work on.

35+ milers per gallon in the city. 4 door and economical. not the coolest looking car aorund but it is very afforadable and it will be under warranty the entire time i own it.

it iwll be paid off in 2 years and at this rate i will only have about 45k miles on it. that means i will have a paid off car with bumber to bumper warranty for 15 thousand more miles and powertrain for 65k more.

if you only have a few grand to spend though i recomend a grand am. i am partial to those cars. they have a solid 6 cylinder and they ahve some pep. not really any major problems with those cars.

if you go for some like the buick skylarks of the early 90's and the olds calais they have the quad 4 that was known for serious top end problems. escorts of the early 90's that will go through rear struts like there is no tomorrow.

if you can scrape up 6 grand though, grab a 1986-87 buick t-type. bas ass mother fuckers.

in 87 they were the fastest production car. 3.8 litre turbo 6

that an 87 t type. you'll smoke all the mustangs and camaros that try to get with you

new cars though, if you're broke like us, kias man..swear to god. no problems with them..people will bitch about shit saying they suck but i own one and i will definately own another one. it's nice to know that you can have a new car, low payment, nice features and have a warranty that covers everything.

can't get too many brand new cars for under 10k
