I don't beleive the Bible is supposed to be taken literally word for word, but some people do it anyways...

the whole world of religion is made up of contradictions......the only religion i would consider taking up is buddhism

thats the thing. it depends on who you talk to. some believe it is the literal word of god. others don't. either way there is a lot of shit in there that seems totally unbelievable.

i am reading it now and i am still in genesis and one of the main problems i have is peoples age. it is well documented that people today live a longer and healthier life than they did hundreds or thousands of years ago. this is due to sanitation, medicine and the use of antiseptics. in genesis it talkes about people living to be 1,000 years old.

it said when noah died he was 900 and 35 years old.

i am not exact in 935 but it was something like that and there were lots of people mentioned that lived hundreds of years.
