 | Re: deadliest catch I did it 3times in college my roommates dad owns a fishing boat up there.. 6grand the first year when i was a greenhorn. 2nd year was kick ass and I brought in a little over 20K, and the 3rd I came home with about 14K.. not bad for a college student, I'd def. do it again if it wasnt for the new catch rules. | ||||

| Re: deadliest catch i went crab fishing, i thought me and u talked about it before actually musta been someone else.... you can still bring in loot, but it's gonna be average for everyone instead of some people getting tons of it because they nailed the right spot, and others get screwed cause they didn't get on the crab fast enough. it will make it more fair but I think its bullshit the best man should win, not tie because he can beat the others at their own game... | ||||

| Re: deadliest catch they are trying to make it safer though correct. now with a set amount per boat they can fish it slower. how does it break down with money? i'm not sure but i think it's owner of the boat gets 50% for himself. captain gets 25% of the remaining 50% all the full share deckhands and halfshare deckhands and greenhorns split the remaining 25%. is that right? so lets say $200,000 the owner would get $100,000. the captain $50,000 then 6 deckhands just over $8,000 thats not bad for 5 days worth of work but those are 5 hard days huh | ||||

| Re: deadliest catch atleat 50% goes to the owner for him and the boat costs, the greenhorns usually work on a set amount of money, then whatever is left gets split up between full deckhands.... it's tough work but I sleep 3-4hrs a night anyway so thats what i was getting on the boat, no huge problem for me... pretty nuts though I def. thought I was dead a few times but u can die walkin outta yur house and getting hit by a bus, shit u can have a bus come into your house anymore so why not give it a shot, it was one of those things that sucked at the time but having the story to tell and experience was def. worth it... not to mention $$$ | ||||
