I thought the same when they introduced the ban in Eire us Irish no regard for the law lol but even in very rural towns maybe 2hrs to the nearest garda station no smoking is enforced by the landlords and it works, the only thing is people have turned to drinking at home to beat the ban..

i will say that i smoked for almost 10 years and i felt the same way then as i do now. i never lit up in a restaurant. i lit up when i went to bars but not in restaurants. so as a smoker and a non smoker i felt this way.

only a few bars and stuff you can still smoke at

if it didnt happen i would be for banning it because like boon said when you ask for non smoking and they seat you right next to smokers it sucks. they would always do that and me and my mom would sit there choking not being able to breath. sometimes we would even leave if there was smokers because it was so bad.
i dont care if they smoke outside because its outside and there is wind. but just as long as its not indoors where i am trying to eat.

Hmm, I personally agree with banning it in an enclosed location, like as you guys have been talking about restaurants, also trains, buses etc...anywhere where you have an increased risk from passive smoke.....

as for the great outdoors, I'm not sure how you'd enforce a ban, since you can no longer prove that it's the smoke that could theoretically put your health at risk...the only thing that really irks me about smoking is the fag butts/tabbies/cigarette ends/dowps etc....(wow, there's a surprising amount of slang for the filter in a fag eh?) because they don't biodegrade and look shitty...but that isn't entirely the fault of smokers but the tobacco companies....I'm pretty evil on smoking, but I think it's be unfair to strip that right completely from those who enjoy it I suppose?

i think a business should have to right to ban it, but the feds shouldnt. I do think it should be banned in all government buildings.
