Does anyone own an iPod?
Or use iTunes? Because I'm having troubles. I just got an 60GB iPod Photo, but iTunes it taking for-fucking-ever to rip my CDs to ALAC (Apple Lossles Audio Compression). It's rediculas how long it takes. Also, anytime I do ANYTHING with iTunes it takes forever in general. For instance, I keep importing album art for all my songs/CDs, but it takes forever to do it. I like to think I have a fairly decent computer. It may have a shitty 1.4Ghz P4 along with a gig of ram, but it sure as hell should be enough to run iTunes. Any help, or similar experiences would be great. I'd like to think I'm not alone on this and apple just created a shitty product.

Yeah. I got an ipod ... its broken. You learn to hate them in a loving way .. dont worry.

Also when i rip tracks from a CD i rip to AAC that works. I think its like the same as ALAC but not as compressed or something .. i dunno (Hungover ... )

I won't be doing AAC on some of the CDs. Right now I'm ripping the ones that I want really good quality on. The rest I'll do that to. Aside from the MP3's I've got downloaded. Which I really do need to buy...

i was thinking of getting one for the wife. can they not play mp3 files? you have to use itunes and rip to tha alac shit or whatever. if so, fuck that jazz.
i'll get a normal one...it's not like it needs to be 5000 gigs anyway. a 512 meg one will be just fine

You can download them off of any filesharing program and then you use iTunes to upload them onto your iPod through a usb cable or firewire. iTunes also has a store where you can purchase songs.
