i was at the movie place today and i never was into them but i'd like to give them a second shot and totally couldn't figure out which was the first and second ones... can u name them out in the order they are in the series?

the IV-VI ones were made first but they are supposed to be AFTER the ones that just came out... like in the newest ones those are supposed to take place when darth was a little kid. and the old ones is when darth is older.... i like the old ones best... good drinking games with starwars

The first premired in 1977 and was titled STAR WARS. The sequel premired in either 1979, or 1980 and was Titled STAR WARS: EPISODE V THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK. At this time STAR WARS was renamed STAR WARS EPISODE IV: A NEW HOPE, to fit with the titles to come. The third premired in 1983, and was titled STAR WARS EPISODE VI: THE RETURN OF THE JEDI


The recent movies are episodes I, II, III, titles The Phantom Meanace, Attack of the Clones, and Revenge of the Sith respectivly

well, in my opinion, 4.9 of them are good movies, as everything but the darth maul battle at the end of one sucked, and most, but not all of attack of the clones was good, and i like d the origninals, and the third prequel

one note is that the future produced from the finale of ot Battle for the Planet of the Apes creates a Tangent Universe in which the apes from the original timeline could not have traveled back from. nullifying the entire story

When you watch the first three (IV-VI) pay attention, it will basically give you lots of backround info on episodes I-III

The reason for this is because Lucas orginaly wrote starwars as one huge script called Star Wars: A New Hope.

HOWEVER, upon realizing that if taken all at once the movie would take 19 hours he broke it up into a COMPLETE story arc so he released the last three episodes (four through six) first because it was a complete story arch.

Also it was for technological reasons that he could not make episode 1 through three because doing corisan in the 70's would be a challenge.

Currently however, there are rumors that lucas will actually do 3 more episodes the infamous Shadows of the Empire arc.
