Sounds alright. I've got a very similar Acer and I've had very few problems with it. Mine has a slightly slower processor and half the RAM, which is the only annoying thing. 256 often doesn't hack it.

i probably could have did better on the laptop but i realy didn't look around. we were in the parking lot of hollywood video talking about it and we decided to buy one so we went to circuit city and bought one.

i like it actually cause it's not real small. it's not huge or anything but my stepdad has a thinkpad thats a little bit smaller. i have a large screen though and room in front of the keys for my hands.

i really like it and i'm glad i bought it.

Yeah, mine was a special build from an Intel class I went to. Was worth about $2000 when it was built, I paid $1000. so it was worth it.

I like the new tiny ones now with the small screens...

whats the battery life on yours annon?

mine only lasts 1 and 1/4 hours. that sucks balls. thats the only thing i don't like

I've had it last up to 4 hours under light use. With continuous use like playing a movie, it will run between 2.5 to 3 hours.

Mine's about the same. I've always got it plugged in unless I'm washing the dishes, which takes much less time than that, so it's fine.

It is my primary computer here in the big city, and I've had no big problems so far. My CDRW/DVD drive can rarely be a bit temperamental, but I reckon that's because I've ripped several hundred CDs through it, and those things don't last forever.

If I had 512Mb of RAM, it would be a beast, so I think you're sorted.

oh yeah. it's smooth. i like the action on it.

it's fast. it's not loaded down with all sorts of bullshit programs that i delete anyway. nice bit of ram and plenty of hd.

keys are real smooth and the screen is sweet. very clear

what do you rip with. i useually use a free cd ripper i got from download.com but a few weeks ago i ripped with windows media player and i liked it

I've just been using Windows Media Player to rip from CDs on this machine. With the amount of music I've got, I have to be conservative in the memory department, so WMA files are the way to go.

I've been looking for early Zappa on the net too, but I can't use P2P programs on my Uni server, so no luck. If you ever want any obscure metal though, you know who to come to!

i'm gonna jump on soulseek. i just downloaded to this computer. it might take a day or 2 but i'm sure i'll find some stuff on there.
