traded teh sg for it. of course it's an epiphone les paul. i can't afford the gibson. i'm not a hitter like that.

so far i like this bitch a lot. it sounds totally different than the sg. also it hangs better. the sg had a little tab for the strap on the right edtge and instead of the left tab for the strap on the left edge it was on the back of the guitar so it hung lopsided. no matter how i adjested the strap it was always crooked and i couldn't play it standing up. plus the sg has a polished finished and i couldn't keep it clean. i had pinky smudges all over it from where i anchor my pinky.

this one has a flat finish. i like it a lot so far

i feel like a dork cause i keep trading them in but they are all different. how you supposed to know what you like till you try it?

i like the way this one feels when i wear it and how it sounds when i play it better than the other 2 i had.

the only thing i don't like about it is the dots on the frets.
on my other one and on my acoustic i have a dot on fret number 3, 5, 7, 9, 12, 15, and 17. on this new les paul only fret number 12 has the dots.
there are smaller dots on the side of the neck though that will help a bit. it's not that huge of a deal but i did notice it right away.


i got me a pack or ernie ball super slinky strings too. gonan put them on tonight.

last week i restrung the sg with ghb boomers or whatever they are called and i really didn't like them

only buy elixer strings, they last alot longer and are alot easier to play on, there made of like a special material or something

thanks for the advice dude but i'm gonna try different strings every time i do it till i find a set i really like. everyone i talk to says different stuff. the guy that owns the shop told me to get ghbs. my instructer said he likes teh ernie balls. martin and fender strings. those cool blue cryo strings.

the lettering on the inside of my arms were far worse than the neck though

i use dean martin fretblasters .9 strings
they are easy to bend and last a long time

everyone mentions different strings. thats why i'm gonna try different strings till i find some i like

like I said the les paul is my favorite. epiphone makes a good les paul~och habe eine les paul epiphone. it will treat you very kindly

They sell fret dot stickers at most guitar/music stores, or you can pick some up from like office max. Thats what I did with my first acoustic.

i love that les paul though dude. it's so much more comfy than the sg.
it feels lighter. the way the body is cut it rests on my leg better when i'm playing and it sounds better. more full.

i go to my lesson monday. gonna see if he can teach me a couple more songs.
