my liver functions are not normal. enzymes are elevated but just slightly.

it's 1 of three things the doc said or a combo of them
the medicine i've been on. he said i have to stop taking all my meds immediately. no vocodin. nothing. thats gonna be wonderful. no fuckin pain meds. i have to though.

it could be hepatitis c. after i left his office i had to go to the hospital lab and get a hep c test. i get the results in 2 weeks at my follow up.

the last thing is the gall bladder. i don't know what exactly but he said some type of gall bladder thing will cause this. no big if it's that. it will be taken out.
i go saturday at 11:20 for an ultrasound of my liver.

the good news is if it's the gall bladder or from the meds i will not get any worse. the liver heals itself. he said i have to change my diet. more protein. less fat. no caffeine, no booze....vitamins and extra vitamin b1. this all reduces the strain on the liver.


and of course. the best part and what i'm afraid of. the fuckin hep c

if i have that i can still ive a long time cause we will have cought it early. it's not cureable but you can slow it donw. people are responding to inturfuron alpha treatments. it's a weekly injection for 48 weeks.

that said, the leading cause of liver transplants in this country is from hep c. it causes liver failure, liver necrosis, toxemia, and liver cancer. it's of course fatal.

remember, this is what my father died from.
i figure if i have this ti came from most likely a tattoo or my back surgery. i could have got it from a contaminated bone but thats not likely.

my wife already told me she'd give me half her liver but i can't even fuckin think about that.

the doctor told me not to worry. something is wrong but at this point we don;t know. a lot of people die of other things without developing liver failure or cancer. others don't.

my wife is an optimist.

i on the other hand have for the last 8 hours been trying to get used to the fact that i should be coming to terms with the number 58. that will give me thirty more years. my wife and i have decided to have a baby. that was before this though. i'd be able to see the kid grow up.

i knew something like this was going to happen to me.

yes, i understand that, but the doctor was pretty vague. he said it could be something serious, or something not so serious like the gall bladder thing.

best case senerio. it's that but either way. my live has damage. thats not good. i still have to stop my meds. i guess i better get used to not being able to move and having a constant pain spike.

i go to the pain doc thursday to tell her whats up.


also, the gall bladder deal would cause this but it's not likely. the other is more common
