I saw the film, but as I read the book first it wasnt as special. But then movies are never true to the books anyway.

Its an amazing film, but if youve read the books you might be dissapointed by some parts.

I just read that a few months ago, then the film randomly came on the tv about a week later, so I watched it with fervour.

I haven't seen the film of 'Hitchikers Guide' yet, but I think I'd like to get the book read first. It's not in my library though, so I may have to fork out some cash.

I went to see the Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy and I was really disappointed. They added in some stuff that was not in the book, 2 new characters, a new item, and a new ending, a new planet and more. Not to mention they expanded trivial characters in to major rolls. They changed the essence of who the characters are to make way for a Hollywood love story and a cliché story of bumbling fool turned hero.

The only parts that were funny were usually when they were making references from the book it's self with the little PDA style computer thing. It is just another great example of how Hollywood can ruin a movie. They will have a sequel biased on the restaurant at the end of the universe they might even have a third movie depending on how well this one does and any following movie thereafter. Maybe the whole thing will work better when put together but I don’t have hopes that it will. The whole story was about irony and intellectual humor, and none of that was present in the movie.

Don't spend your money going to see this in the theatre just rent it when it comes to DVD. I would give it a 6/10 when I first left the movie but with more time to digest the movie after a couple days I would give it a 5/10.

Yeh I reckon the whole hollywood love story ruins a lot of it. The ending pissed me off, cos when the fuck does that happen?

I love the volgons though, pure genious character design.

I've only ever seen the original BBC series.......not too sure I like the look of the new film, but that's always the case huh?

HHG2T was originally a radio-play, when they made the series in 1981 people complained it wasn't as good as the radio version, I guess the same will happen here? I will have to go see it, but I don't think Marvin looks as good as he did in the 81 series?

Marvin wasnt acted very well. Hes a lot more depressed in the books than the film, it really doesnt capture his true depressign feeling!

I was dissapointed with him, and he was one of the things I was really looking forward to.

They actually put the old marvin robot in at one point in the film, you gotta look out for him.

damn i want to see that
