| Hence, my self-loathing | Re: how do you share stuff on a wireless network??? Look for the wireless icon in the system tray, right click and view available wireless networks. Choose yours and click connect. To share files create a shared folder on one of the systems and you should be able to see it from the other system. |

| Hence, my self-loathing | Re: how do you share stuff on a wireless network??? Find the folder you want to share. Right click the folder, go to sharing and Security. Allow the folder to be shared and give users the right to change the files. If you get a warning about security risks of sharing just click through. Next get the name of the computer that the folder is on. For example BoonDesktop. then go to the other computer, click Start / Run and type "\\Boondesktop" the resulting window should show what you have shared on the Desktop computer. Then it's just a simple click. The other way is to go to My Network Places, click on the "View Network Computers" in the Left Sidebar and you should be able to browse and see the other computer. One thing to remember if you are using Norton Internet Security as your firewall, you must add the private IP address range as "trusted" in the Firewall configuration. For Example most Linksys routers have addresses on 192.168.0.1 so you should add a trusted range in your firewall such as 192.168.0.1 to 192.168.0.254. If you need more help let me know man... |
