i just went and got my plates for my truck today and i can't belive the scams they pull.
i ended up paying $30 to get plates till my birthday next march. in 3 months i have to go back and it's gonna be $45.
the first lady i talked to was gonna charge me $70 just for the plates till march. i asked to see another girl that works there who i know(i don't know her name but she used to live in my apartments and one day her car was dead and my wife and i gave her a jump).
the lady is cool. last time she notarized my title and didn't charge for it. anyway she gets me for $30 today and tells me the other lady was charging me the standard $40 in fees. fees for what?
$20 fee to register my truck as a non commercial truck. it's a mandatory fee you get no choice.
this is my favorite one
$20 fee for a "road tax" in my city. $20 in taxes for the road? the funny thing is the roads in this town are absolute shit and they have been for a long time. this lade put down that i live in the township so my fee was waived.

do you guys get scammed like this where you live? we also have to have an emission test done that costs $19.50 but apparently enough people complained about it so starting in january it will be free. that amazes me.

it really bothers me that this shit costs so much money. i have to pay $20 so they can classify my truck as non commercial.

i think it's like 80 bucks a month, which thnx for reminding me i need to cancel my plates because i totalled my truck a few days ago. great.

I knows its $55 a year, and I think I paid like $75 when I first got my car...
fucking rip off man... Now they also charge $300 for drivers education course, at a public high school... thats besides the $100 it cost to just go to school there...

Great part is, were still in debt trillions of dollars!

BTW in Jersey I paid $46.50 (per year) for my plates and registration per car. Plus $5 for a family dup Registration.

yes, but you also have to pay some of the most obsurd insurance rates in the country
