   | I dont think its fair...... to compare Katrina to 9/11. The attack on the towers and pentagon affected many people but at the end of the day, the total area of the destruction was only 20 or so blocks in manhattan, and 1/5th of the pentagon in washington. Yes, they both killed a lot of people, but in the end, there were families that had a home and were mourning. What happend down south was on a much LARGER SCALE, 9/11 will always have the legacy of the two wars, and the homeland security joke. This storm, however, has destroyed many american cities and the surrounding areas. There own misery outweighs even the sorrow of losing people. It has somewhat crippled our abillity to refine oil, and is taking a toll on us already. This is the biggest disaster in our history. Even if oil gets back on track and goes down again, there is still a huge rebuilding project they will choose to undertake, and millions of displaced people who will have to find new homes. | ||||

  | Re: I dont think its fair...... i agree. 911 is a big deal cause it was an attack. at the end of the day though, a few thousand people died, a few city blocks and some real estate was destroyed. this katrina destroyed 90k square miles. hundreds of thousands of people homes. these people now have no jobs, no homes, no personal posessions. that was not the case with 911 this is way, way, way more serious than 911..thats just one guys opinion though | ||||
