It's supposed to be influenced by Tamara De Lempicka's art deco portraits... That's why I exaggerated the feature like the angles of the nose and the cheekbones and such.

What do you guys reckon? Sorry about the "halo" I made a mistake and haven't decided on a background yet.

Oh and it's fairly big... The photo printout next to it is an A3 sheet.

Thanks guys! That's the first large portrait I've ever done =) and it's the second ever thing I've done in oil pastel.

I know he looks black boon... It's because right the Art GCSE is silly and you have to do pictures to study different elements of your final piece like colour or composition or artist influences and you get marks for recording evidence. My exam is on Thursday and I'm grade-grabbing basically; that picture is influenced by two different De Lempicka portraits, and I did it from a big glossy A3 printout of a photo of my brother. So that's marks for artists links, the picture itself, recording (the photo) and I also took photos at different stages so you can see how I did it.

It's gay, I know. I hate it.

As for the price questions......... I have no idea. I'm just a kid experimenting with crayons.

i used to be huge into drawing, my aunt actually sells drawings of the seacoast here in maine. id say that as soon as you finnish the backround thats worth around 500. i love how you made the eyes look to the right, and the shading is perfect.

Nice one, and yeh he does look black, but I remember when we had to do shit like that. Dischords of colours, paintings in solely one colour.

I think you have the lips and chin area done nicely, theres some good shading in that part.

What made me like the art deco stuff is that it's sort of... Individual parts of it look really quite realistic, but as a whole it looks surreal.

Not so much with my interpretation - I used the earth tones so I can talk about it in my annotation plus skin tones are HARD.
