I know dude, i work at cingular as a data support specialist tech rep, thats all I do is troubleshoot internet/data connectivity on phones all day. I didnt mention that phone because it aint that great yet, and its capabilities are not that much tested. i know its out there, but havent had much experience on it.

I know that treo's go over the cell network, but they, if provisioned correctly, are connected to the internet all the time. What mustard said is that being connected would require wi-fi connection. That is just not true, the cellular network is still being "connected." Not trying to be an ass or anything, just straightening things out.

Yeah thats already been straightened out. I wasn't thinking cellular, I was thinking Wi-Fi.

I personally wouldn't want an MP3 player that requires monthly payments to be connected all the time in order to just download music. It's just doesn't make sense to me. If they didn't use monthly payments and just jacked up the prices of the songs, there still would be no point. It'd cost more to go through cellular networks. Where as Wi-Fi is often times free.

Buy a PDA and a MP3 player... Or a phone that can do that stuff. Why have a damn electronic swiss army knife? Just means if it breaks you can't listen to music or surf the web.
