i will say that they have mastered the art of making money. movie stars are not just movie stars anymore. a lot of the big names do commercials in asia. they do endorsements here and most of them have production companies.
look at mel gibson. he wrote, directed, and produced the passion and he has made about 300 million from that movie alone.

brad pitt's production company produced charlie and the chocolat factory. that movie is gonna make him about 60 million. thats on top of the 20 million he gets for each movie. every commercial he does, every movie his company produces just rakes the money in.

another thing a lot of them do is take less money up front and take a piee of the back end. cruise did this with MI1. he took like 10 mill instead of 20 and took points on the back end so total he made like 70 million from it.

these people have the cash flowing in.

1 of the best scams is the stars having the movie studios lease shit from them that they already own.

travolta is an airplane fanatic and owns several. when he is filming a movie the studio pays him to lease his airplane to have on standby to fly him anywhere he needs to go. he already owns it and the studio is paying.

another that does similar is will smith. he has a trailer worth like a million dollars and when he is filming the studio leases it from him so he has a place to stay.

apparently the movie budgets are also bundled with hundreds of thousands of dollars that pays for the stars food and board. we are talking hotels that cost 5 grand per night.

i know. that money is what he has made already. he will continue to rake it in till he is dead. same thing with all of them.
every time a movie is sold, rented, or played on tv they get residuals.

if they make a blockbuster now it's mega millions.

take brad pitt. he stars in a movie and his salary is 20 mill a picture but he takes 12 mill up front and 1% of all the residual stuff. his company produces it and he wrote it and directs it.
now he's got it pouring in from all angles. instead of 20 mill, if the movie is a hit taking 1% plus 12 mill he will probably pocket about 60 million

they all market well now. 10 years ago the best pop star, houstan or something was just selling records. now they have records, they do movies, they own the companies that produce it, they do commercials and endorsements, and their own fucking clothes.

that producer russel simmons, the one who is married to that kimora jap bitch thats on some morning show, he has made a couple 100 mill from his baby phat clothing line.

they work lots too though and it does have it's downfalls bein a movie star.....idk, i'd like the cash flow for sure but i wouldn't want all the attention they get....it would drive me nuts, eveyone knowin everything about ur personal life....................
