  | Lookin at a car... So for me the past week has come together quite nicely. I've contacted a guy about his '97 prelude. He's askin about $8k for it, but I'm going to try and talk him down to $7k. It's pretty much stock aside from a carbon fiber hood, exhaust and maybe a few other things. Which is pretty much what I wanted. I'm supposed to meet up with him Friday to have a look at it, and within the next two days I'm going to be calling some autoshops to see if they'll take a look at it and let me know what kind of condition it's REALLY in. What sucks about this though is that he's about an hour drive away from me. So all of this has to be orchestrated so it'll only take me a couple trips to get the car. If I decide to buy it of course. On top of all that, I got pre-approved for a $6k loan and I've got $1000 down if I do decide to get it. And I'll have my license early- to mid-october. I'm pretty damn stoked. | ||||

| Re: Lookin at a car... Yeah, it's a 5spd. A lot of people don't like Hondas, for the simple fact that everyone does like them. I personally have liked Honda's since my old neighbor had a CRX. Which was 9 or so years ago. When it comes to Honda's I like '89-'91 CRX's, '92-'95 Civic Hatchback's, '92-'94 Del Sol's and '97-'01 Preludes. I'm really wanting a Prelude because my friend has a CRX and I didn't want to feel like I was copying. The Del Sol's are too short. I like em and all, but for me it's like they're too short to look agressive. And I just perfer the Prelude's over the hatchbacks. I love Integra's and the Prelude has a very similar body style. I've recently grown to like the Prelude more than Integra's anyway... Plus an Integra is out of my price range. | ||||

| Re: Lookin at a car... Jugador, the '97-'01 Prelude's look just like the the '92-'96 Preludes just with the back lights switched with the front and vice versa. Da, I want to be able to afford gas. If gas wasn't so high I'd be lookin for an old Chevy short-bed pickup. | ||||

| Re: Lookin at a car... One of the best things about Honda is they are ultra reliable. And they can be very fun to drive. I am thinking of an Acura RSX-s 6-speed as my next car. Had a CRX years ago (84) when they first came out. No Injection, 76 HP wasn't quick off the line but was a great car to drive. I put Koni Shocks and Better than stock springs, with a sway bar kit, and a set of Goodyear Eagle GT's. The car cornered like a slot car. Used to take exit ramps and tristy roads at like 70 - 80 miles an hour. Great fun. The secret to the Prelude will be buy good tires...... | ||||
