can someone tell me how the fuck can one state have 50 oil refineries, produce 23% of our oil and gass... and yet.. no one can find gas to get out!!

Well Ivy welcome to the Human condition.

We as a people should begin to accept the fact that events like this are going to happen periodically and more than likely more often. As the population rises, and people push their living environment to the "fringes" (Ocean homes), events will occur that claim many lives. Look at the Tsunami, and Katrina.

Thankfully the US has a better safety record than most, but that does not mean it can't happen here. Imagine a toxic or radioactive "incident" in Port Newark, or Indian Point NY. The resulting exodus, and confusion would be staggering. We need to individually begin to formulate survival plans to become self sufficient for periods of time when help might not be available.

When the four horsemen come, you need to have an escape plan!
