| Hence, my self-loathing | Re: Resumes Your Resume should be one page. It is supposed to be a brief report about you and your career history. As someone that has had to read resumes and interview people, I can tell you that a long overly verbose resume, is a turn off to the person that needs to read it. Keep in mind that they may have to go through 20 to 100 resumes. keep it clean and easy to read and comprehend and it will stand out to the interviewer. Years ago I had to interview Technicians for a field service job. I received about 75 Resumes in 3 days. One was Hand Written! And not very well either. This guy did not even get an interview, but I was impressed that the guy had the guts to submit a handwritten resume, knowing that all the others would be typed or printed. That was about 20 years ago, and I never forgot it. If the decision for the interviewing and hiring was strictly mine I would have given him a chance at the job. |

The Resume is a get you in the door advertisement. Get the interview first and hard sell. |

For many people this is probably one page. The information should be crisp dense and relevant. There is no need to list stupid bullshit on there. No one will be impressed with some long bullshit. Length has nothing to do with how professional something looks. Good luck taco. So what does your resume look like? I'm looking to hire a full time personal handicapper. ![]() | ||||
