turning apple cider to alcohol

i found a gallon jug of apple cidar in my fridge that has been there since thanksgiving.
it has no preservatives and it is pasturized
does anyone know if or how i can make it turn alcoholic?

i think you just have to age it, i have a place i drive to about 45min from here that have fresh cider, not pastureized or anything it's fuckin awesome but they only have it sept-nov. usually so i stock up my whole garage fridge w/ it at the end of their season and the first year i didn't freeze them so 1 or 2 turned hard by the time i got to them...

boffin&unholy- maybe over the pond cider is alcoholic but here it aint
mexi-if you want to make some its not that hard
all you need to do is heat it up and add 1-1.5 lbs of sugar then mix it up. then you need to make a bong like object for the cap to let gasses out of the bottle but not back in

Yup...over here cider is the alcoholic stuff...me'n dad used to make a lot of that back home...the link gives a pretty good guide, except for one thing: Instead of yeast we just used sugar and one bottle of cider (hard cider for those on the other side of the pond). The alcohol from that one bottle usually gets the fermenting process started. And you don't get that disgusting yeast haze (particles of yeast in the drink)

Anyways, you wont be able to ferment it and drink it cause there are risks with fermentation and you dont want to drink spoiled applejuice. Look it up on the net though, im sure theres a way as long as you do it right.

i dont like it hard, i love that fuckin cider i did that once by mistake because i didn't freeze them at that time now i freeze it... i love unpasturized stuff tastes like your drinking an apple right off the tree not that other bullshit they sell in stores

regular cider is not alcoholic here. only hard cider.

regular cider tastes sort of like carbonated apple juice. not exactly like that but sort of.

i wouldn;t chance it with trying to terment that either. you can get sick or kill yourself that way.

its fresh apples that are squeezed , i think they put some spices in it... it's not carbonated over here though, just kind of applejuice w/ a kick(as in spices) i dont like the store bought stuff thats pasterized tho, i hate anything pasterized, i drive 45min just for milk...
