The stage was awesome. The performance pretty much sucked, and it was quite obvious they were lipsyncing and shit. In perspective though, I guess they are old as fuck.

I was thinking that the last few Super Bowl halftime shows have been groups that appeal specifically to white audiences in the baby boomer demographic.

So I wikipedia'd that shit:

Before the Janet Jackson thing, you can see they did all they could to put forth acts that could please as many demographics as possible. It was pretty absurd how far they went. For example, in '95, they had Indian Jones with Teddy Pendegrass and Tony Bennet all on one stage. Thats trying hard.

But since Janet Jackson showed a nipple, we have had Prince and old white guy rock bands.
