What is Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory?
It's free, online only game...HURR sorry, failed expansion pack for Return to Castle Wolfenstein that they decided to release online about oh...5 years ago. It's quake 3 based. So yes, there are some awesome Quake 3 based physics, none of that realism bullshit that newer Call of Duties, other more team based shooters are based around. And also none of that watered down physics that you find in Unreal Tournament (cry more UT faggots about how you don't want to learn how to strafe jump, circle strafe and use the quake 3 engines many physics loopholes designed to make gameplay that much more bad ass and go enjoy your watered down bullshit) it's team based, with alot of custom maps avaible to where you'll be setting up dynamte to blow up something, to even fucking running gold across a map in basically an ET version of american football while being shot at with panzers...etc etc.

Why the fuck should I play a game that's 5 years old?
For one thing, you don't need the best hardware, and it still has an active community of players who still play this game near religiously because the other free games just blow ass or some of the paid ones aren't too twitchy enough or just don't play right.

It's also cross platform, which means anyone (barring some retard like ME who sometimes can be seen toiling away mumbling obsceneties while getting AmigaOS running on an intel x86..not just any intel, an intel x86-64, oh joy.) from fucking fashion concerned jackasses with their macs, to neckbeards with their linux boxes or just regular people with their windows machine can just all frag together, and frag together natively, no need for emullation. HOWEVER, one caveat to the Linux version, it is OSS-native being so old, so if you want to get it so that Enemy Territory won't hog up your soundcard, so you can say, listen to music and hear game sound, or go on teamspeak and bullshit with me. The best and easiest way to do this is getting anything USB, (and having your regular soundcard all set up for ET etc) have ET use dsp0 (which would be your soundcard) and set up teamspeak or whatever other program you can use (i think I've only done this for teamspeak, honeslty if you want to litsen to music, I suggest reversing this process and have ET use your main soundcard as dsp1) and have it set up so that your headset or speakers or whatever, are set up as dsp1 or adsp0 however you have created it in your devices.

Did I also fucking mention this is free. and did I also mention that it's not some giant 3 gigabyte download that will hog up your line? It's only 260mb (good if you are a faggot like my friend Tinal and have a 175gb download amount he can do per month, that's like, total bandwidh usage, i.e. surfing the net etc counts towards this. lol @ rogers cable being such bastards.) which is fucking good if you say like me or most other people with cable, get throttled after you go over a certain download limit for the day.

The game is fucking ridiciously easy to learn and! Some people actually will help you.

K...I got this shit downloaded, what next?
I suggest, you go into your console and I think the command is ike /set com_hunkmegs and set it to like 128 or above or else some maps (atleast on the server I play on. won't load)

Also if you want, go into a smaller server, some have bots so you can practice on. and just get a feel for the game. there are five classes to the game which are

Soldier
gets a variety of weapons, and depending on the server, they are usually, Panzer, MG42, Flamethrower, or an MP40 or Thompson. (the last choice is for retards because it does nothing for your heavy weapon skills and XP, so you get more benefits later on, like faster reloads, better chrage time etc.
This class is good, but really in game, all you are is a meat shield for the engies and are defending the objective if you are defending, but you get mad amounts of kills. At highest level you get the ability to also have an MP40 or thompson as your backup weapon, so you aren't forced to run around with akimbo pistols.

Medic
You only have the choice of an MP40/Thompson here and you will start with 2 clips of ammo (obviously because you are so burdened down with your infinite supply of med kids.) but you can revive teammates and also, posion enemies with the needle you used to just revive your buddy. (lol @ spreading hep c) This class is best for beginners because you get to heal yourself, and you get XP faster from reviving your buddies. Also at higher levels you get to do adreneline self (depending on the mod, this applies to all classes, on vanilla ET it does not. But who the fuck plays the vanillia version of a quake 3 based game anyway?) which is helpful if you are trying to get to an objective. Medics are the best objective runners in game, becuase they can heal themselves. However, they have limited ammo...so find a fieldy and get some ammo.

Engineer
The one class that any team CANNOT ever be without, you build the command posts, destroy shit, etc. Basically if you have no engies, you are fucked in most maps (unless you are on a purely defensive map for your side, even then you nee an engie to defuse dynamite etc) You have a choice of a rifle (a garand, k43) with a grenade launcher, good if you need to take out something a bit far away like an MG nestled away somewhere, but shit upclose, me personally, I always am this class like 90% of the time, and I usually use a thompson or MP40 because of the benefits I get in close quarters. Also you get a bitchin flakjacket which helps because it reduces damage by I think something like 25 percent.

Field Ops
Hand out ammo, you also get to call in airstrikes and artilery (you have a canister you throw and it lets out colored smoke and a short time later, planes come crashing it, the enemy however, can sit on top of it, and block the airstrike) the artilery is pretty bad ass and it is useful if you have to dynamite something and there is alot of resistance to have a fieldy there to lay down an artilery strike or airstrike to give you room. Also they only use the thompson or mp40. And this class for allies, is the token black guy, who, if you watch his hands from first person mode, are white. God damn black people always trying rape the white culture! anyway, at level 4 you get the ability to see disguised enemies...unlike the other skills, this only works if you are a field ops, but is useful.

Covert Ops
The last class is probably my personal favorite and I use this and medic usually as the other classes I like to use besides engineer, you get a choice of three guns, the sten (which is the best gun for closer quarters in the game, you get fucking headshots like no ones business) the fg42 (which honestly should of been designed better, it shoots fast, but requires much more finesses and skill to use seeing as its rate of fire is pretty fucking stupid and you fucking go through 80 rounds pretty fucking fast) and a scoped garand or k43 which is good for sniping. you can zoom in and out...one shot kills are hard. but possible. You also get to take dead enemies uniforms...though most experienced players will be able to tell you are disguised..it works quite well if used correctly. also at level 4 you get the skill called assassin which I really have no fucking idea what it does considering no one has ever been explain it to me either and i've been playing this game since 2004.

Okay, where do you play?
I personally, usually am on the whosgaming server. which you can conect to in your console (by using ~) by typing /connect whosgaming.com it's a bit more strict, it has frierndly fire, and it isn't so hardcore on teh quake physics, but it's fun, another servers I tend to play on is the BBA 1 server, whose address I forget..but you can find them on the server list, they are usually one of the most populated servers and their physics are fucking quake-tastic, you can speed jump pretty easily and it has a much more...fluid feel to it and feels alot like quake 3.

Some servers also let you double jump.

I usually go by {BaKa}Ms Mister or Mr Mister depending on my mood. sometimes I'll have the tag on sometimes I won't. I also somtimes, if I'm trolling someone (llike last night there was a korean girl on. so I changed my name to Japan #1 to piss her off...luckily the admins didn't notice...but I did get a PM from someone who I see on the server regularily and told me to fucking stop lolloololololol) also ehh.. if you don't really like the game just uninstall, i just want to play with you guys at a game sometime.

Last note: the sever I usually play on has a filter for cussing..etc. so eh, get around it if you want etc. but just to let you know. (I know, me of all people playing on a server that mutes you for cussing and kills you if you cuss is weird...but eh, I come to enjoy it)
