that would be a cool power. watching x-files and the episode is about that and it got me thinking how cool it would be to be able to look at an object and make it go up in flames. you'd never get busted for it and you could have a lot of fun.

apperently the military has a weapon that can light fires with infared which is probably the closest to pyrokinesis someone could get

They have a an infra red ray system which can be used in riot defence.

By creating a field of infra red rays around the rioters, the rays heat up and cause burning pain, so the people flee.

Obviously this could also be used to kill people by using more power.
