you all running up to date antivirus software???

i just updated my norton internet security last night. other than the operating system antivirus software is the only software i pay for and i hate it.
i hate feeling like i get nothing when i spend money.

Norton Internet security, while being a good program, extracts a heavy burden on system resources. And the renewal fee is expensive. You can duplicate it's protection with free components that are available. The only thing it really pays to purchase is good AV.

I use Symantec Antivirus Corp edition for Anti-virus (version 10 now detects spyware and adware too), I use Zone Alarm (Free version) as my firewall, and I use Mozilla Firefox and Thunderbird as my browser and E-Mail. Thunderbird does an excellent job of detecting spam, and it very easy to setup and use for anyone. If you want the have more protection against Adware/spyware look for Webroot's Spysweeper, I got a copy for free (after rebate) from Best Buy last week. You can also download AdAware (free version) from www.lavasoftusa.com, and run a scan like once a week to be sure there is no crap on the system.

I use mcafee too.. I used to have norton subscription till 2008, got it for free too.. Heres some links to two alternative antivirus programs, panda was rated the best by pcworld..

wow, i honestly can't believe there are people out there using nothing... that's nuts...

...and I can't stand Norton, way to intrusive... I have to have customers disable it most of the time when trying to get peoples pc cards to work...

its not good to go without anti virus.. Your computer can be wrecked, identity stolen.. No good, and not wanting to pay is a bad excuse, theres lots of ways to get it cracked, with a subscription.. Theres also great, free anti virus programs out there like AVG...

my system can handle it and the fee is in my budget. norton internet security is all i ever used. i like the way it's set up and the control it gives me over everything it does. it's the only antivirus software i care to use.

bullshit man. thats probably something someone heard on some damn message board and passed it around as fact. they are a legit company with a fantastic product.
the software might bare down on system resources but if you have a good system it's not a problem.
you run their updated product and you'll never have a problem.

Ive had it, with the sibscription too, and it has not been able to remove the virii on my computer time after time.. Horrible support too, they charge you ridiculously per minute on the phone..

The program is good for detecting the virii, but so many times it has not been able to delete them.. Panda and Mcafee are whats right for me, definatly...
