| Brofessor | EU thinktank advocates 'unbundelling' Windows Totally the wrong way to go about it, but kind of funny nonetheless. Not to mention MS lost the anti-trust appeal in the UK, and another suite filed by the Chinese. But, they still got enough bills. Their partners in crime SCO filed bankruptcy though. lolz. http://www.globalisation.eu/briefing...-200709231241/ |

I just think it's funny, but I certainly wouldn't want to restrict any business to do whatever they please. This is only gonna cause a lot of bullshit and confusion. Big government always does ridiculous and over the top things. I don't blame Microsoft for having all the market share. I blame consumers complacency and their lack of backlash on a bad product. Since Microsoft owns so much of the market share and that most of the people that use computers are used to it. Because of the lack of backlash Microsoft doesn't really have any incentive to better or improve their product. Many will complain, but will do nothing and continue to use the software. I advocate Linux so much because it is indeed a great operating system, and definitely ready for the desktop as far as the operating system goes. Drivers still need a tad bit of work, but other than that absolutely wonderful OS. But, I am 100% capitalist, and think forcing any regulations on contracts between two people, corporations, or any other group represented by human beings, such as this is, should not be regulated by government. It's just pointless and fucking counter productive to any free market economy. Yes. I think this is a bad idea. The EU is nothing but an central organization trying to control the one continent. This is a prime example. This may open the doors for more people becoming familiar with better free software, but it goes against the philosophy that I believe in. |

No, I do not see many that 'trust' Microsoft, just use their product because it is what they are used to, and yes it's marketed well. But, can you honestly say they've improved the product that retails at $200 since Windows 2000? I sure can't... in most areas. Compare it to Linux, it's grown, and evolved leaps and bounds in even just the last year since it has became my primary OS. Today I only boot into XP to hook up my camera and get pics off it, and not because I can't do it in Linux, but because I'm fucking lazy. |

| Fucking Brutal | Re: EU thinktank advocates 'unbundelling' Windows O I agree I have been using Linux for years at college and at work and now on my laptop. And no the windows product has not improved in my opinion it hasn't gotten safer faster or easier to use in fact it has taken a step back in all three of those areas with Vist It's a software that is doomed to destroy it self especially if apple ever gets it's head out of it's ass they'll eat em' alive in sales |

It's no secret that they are very much against open source, and Woz even publicly bashes it. |

OK. You know what I meant. The EU thinks they can limit Microsoft's profits and spur competition by what amounts to protectionism. It won't work, it will only cause prices to rise for consumers. The EU wants so much to be a modern version of the US, they have major penis envy of us. The EU will fail. Period. |
