Aw thanks guys, it gets better!! Another confirmed female this morning, oddly it is the other Citral who is utterly different physically, and we were convinced it was a boy!

Maggit now has 2 weeks to build a much bigger grow box.....looks like it could be 8, maybe even 10 girls!! But that's 4 for definate!!

Will try get a pic of the micro-pistils later, but for now here is everyone, got another feed last night so they look awesome this morning.....I should mention we now only bottom-feed, seems to wash fewer nutrients out the soil, and we've notived a difference...can keep a bigger plant in a smaller pot....

I am sooooo happy, and now the nights are darker, light leakage isn't the problem it was. And temps average 24c which is perfect!

Hmm, well, looks like this one is going to be a 5 week veg, the light get switched to 12/12 from tonight, so......another 7-8 weeks veg (they're mosty indicas so they'll finish off a little faster)

We're looking at, 12-13 weeks, with (hopefully) if we get 8 girls (it's REALLY starting to look like we have 8) 1-2o per plant, anywhere between 12-16o....that will last us ages.....see, we don't grow commercial, you can't really run more than 650w in a tiny 2 bedroom flat in a city centre with a damned police cctv camera less than 50 metres from your house which can look right in the windows.......we grow because we can't get a decent, reliable hookup, plus fuck paying over £100 every time for an ounce!

I have to get the window sorted before I switch the light, we bought some blackout curtains today, but I don't have enough curtain hooks, so off to my mum's to get some from her, then I need to stop light getting under the bedroom door....this is damned important, I don't want hermies, so we need to be as lightproof in here as possible before the light switches......

That's the bulb been swapped to 250 sodium, and the light will be switching off at 11pm instead of 3am.....then tomorrow will be the first 'proper' day of 12/12....

And the official female count is now at 5, spotted the most minute wee pistil on one of the Afghans, the other Afghan is keeping it's sex a secret still, but the preflowers are still long pointy-tipped and feminine.....I can't take a pic because my digi cam just can't do closeups like that, these things are barely the size of a pin head at the moment and they just blur anyway.....

We shall just have to be patient, and hope everyone else shows sex now that we're going 12/12 :)

Thanks guys, thanks from me, maggit and most importantly the plants!!

Right, done a spot of reshuffling, we have repotted the 4 confirmed females in some 11 litre square pots we bought at the hydro shop yesterday, these are great because they take up a lot less room than the round pots do, so if needed, we can now fit 6 plants under the 400 light and keep 4 under the 250....

Speaking of which, all repotted 4 are now under the 250 next door, and the other 6 await judgement/sentancing depending on which way they go..... 1 of the Afghans is female, but the pistil thing is still minute, so she can stay with the other 5 for now as she's not showing any signs of needing a repot....also fed the kali who is REALLY needing repotted, but will just have to show me it's bits before I go ahead and waste the soil!!!

WEE UPDATE:

The Front left papaya is officially female, and....erm, so is the kali mist.....I need to do an emergency repot of the kali now because I can't get any pots till Monday an I don't think she will be too healthy by then, so we'll whack her in a 5 litre pot till then.

Right, the sexing results are in and....it's 7/10 females!!! We have:

2 citral
2 eclipse
1 kali mist
1 Papaya
1 Afghan

Well, couldn't have asked for better results really, 7/10 are good odds and we have a female in every strain so it's like a great cheeseboard of grass....hehe, just doing some repotting, will have more pics when they start to popcorn up a little which may be in a few weeks....

Great news, Flyness..are the remaining three definitely males then? It seems like it was a vicariously exhaustive struggle to get to this point but when it rains I guess it does pour. Seven fems is great unless you now have a new problem of overcrowding. Still, if so, it is a nice problem to have as you can always take clones.

They were definate boys, they got a few days on the kitchen windowsill to make sure (strange fact: they flower a millions times quicker if I stick them in the kitchen where it is generally colder and darker....) And they all had their wee boolees showing....so, got chopped, may try make something from the corpses??

We can manage 7 females alright: 3 under the 250, 4 under the 400...have to say, that kali is stretching at a heck of a rate of knots, have to wonder if she wsa a beanstalk in her last life, she is just shy of 3 foot now and has at least 7 weeks to go, I can see us having to work out some way of bricking up our grow box so she'll still fit under the light.....we have a plan, bought a whole load of black tarpaulin that you usually use when you chucky-stone the garden, gonna make a 'skirt' for the bottom of the box, then raise it on bricks....we have a feeling this kali isn't going to stop at 5 foot!!! Dammit, sativas are a bit strange to grow!!!

Anyway, a few pics.....the papaya has the oddest pistils...they are a pinky-red colour..not the pistils, but the little calyx that each pair of pistils grows from.....dunno if you remember the male papaya also had the pretty pink thing going on.....the hermie papaya never did this, it's very pretty....she's also still not fully recovered from the repot, but she was the last one out the smaller pots...she has improved from how she looked a few days ago....

So glad you're finally having luck with your grow! I don't know how much longer I could have gone on in your situation, after the 2 failed grows! Congrats on the mass of buds that will soon be in your possession!

Thanks a lot guys!! And hiya Eez!!! How does your garden grow?

The papaya is absolutely beautiful, she is growinf pistils a lot faster than anyone else, and they're like rhubarb, very pretty, I've tried to get a pic, and you can make out the colour a little, tho the sodium lighting kills the pic....

And the kali mist, I just measured her, she's now 32.5 inches tall, that means she grew 2.5 inches yesterday, god she's tall!!!

Ah, your right about the 2 failed grows...we were on the brink of giving up, this was just too hard to bare, plus the risks/costs for nothing at the end, but HOPEFULLY this will result in something truly beautiful, like Highgirly's buds are :)
