| Re: Kali Mist, Afghan, Papaya, Eclipe and Citral Week 4 update: Well, everyone is doing fine, starting to see the differences in them all.....seems that the Kali Mist is the tallest & has the most pronounced internodal growth (no surprise) and the eclipse most likely to get yellowing lower leaves... second-biggest plant is the citral.. Anyway, I numbered the plants in the pic, you can't see the labels in the pots anymore because they're too bushy now.... 1: Kali Mist 2: Citral 3: Eclipse 4: Afghan 5: Papaya It has to be said that both the Nirvana seeds are slower growing plants....but then, they are both indicas........ And week 4 is apparently the critical period of veg, which is why we had a bloody powercut today...not to worry, it was only down for about 1 1/2 hrs.... K -x- PS: Lucian, are you still out there???? Glad to hear you have 3 BDs...I really would love to see them....are they short, fat and generally, stompy little indicas then?? Ah.... STILL getting girl-vibes, tho we are nearly at week 6 of 16/8 and still no definative sex, so, I can only assume this has something to do with the tweaked light-schedule as every other grow under the same light we had sex at about 5 weeks.....maybe it means they feel all chilled and relaxed about growing? Um, I FINALLY have an update about the opium poppies......we can't harvest them, they're like dwarves, the pods only measure <1" diameter, so I think they're far too small to get anything from.....so, I'm just going to let them go to seed and hopefully we'll get a better result next year.... I think the problem was, 4 months of being grown under sodium lighting, and then being transplanted outdoors with severe root-bound-ness and it was a bit late in the season...ah, have to learn a new plant's preferences..... Also, a pic of the top of the kush..... The kali mist is a beautiful sativa...nice internodal growth and those long thin leaves.....the citral is a right dumpy wee thing, I think she is our favourite. K -x- | ||||

I think that we should see sex any day, those green pointy bits that you get at the junction between stem/fan leaves have now 'opened' so it wont be long...I think that the papaya and eclipse have very females preflowers (round at bottom, point at tip) and maggit says she saw a pistil on one of them though I can't seem to find it for love nor money..... Ya think I should slice 1 poppy and see what latex we get?? I've been looking at pics on Erowid and their poppies dont seem any bigger than mine......so maybe they are worth slicing? K -x- PS, I would love to see your poppy pic Jude...do you have a copy of it on your computer? | ||||

Right, just a pic seeing as we're now on 12/12 schedule...I'm just keeping everyone under 250HPS for now till we have some clear sign of sex (still can't actually tell) If we do have 5 femles, I'll prolly have to spit then up to make some room (neither veg/flowering cupboard is big enough to hold 5 girls) I'll keep 2 of them under the 250HPS and stick 3 next door under the 400HPS..........anyway, should be seeing sex soon!! Seems they are reluctant to show under 16/8, I mean, that's now 6.5 weeks of veg (most people veg for 4 weeks).......anyway, should be seeing some nice looking bud in about 4 weeks....... Since I'm a little paranoid about getting busted in my apartment for growing marijuana, I'll just leave the two 400watter hps lamps in the closet for now, but I have ordered spores for growing shrooms this last friday and should be to me in about a week...I'M FREAKIN EXCITED!!!!! at least i get to grow something and ill be sure to keep a journal and post plenty of pics pics, maybe make my own tek, although i'll be following the pf tek method...still learning and researching the best way for me to do this....anyways should be a learning experience... ok, sorry for the little tangent, lovely plants and can't wait to see them mature, and i can't wait till the harvest as I'm sure you can't either igf. good luck and happy toking... | ||||

So, another 10 getting germed this Sunday, MAYBE for ONCE I'll get a female?? Basically, if the next grow also goes tits up then I'm quitting growing, this is just costing me electricity foe absolutely nothing...to put my irritation into perspective for you so far since starting growing, we have grown a grand total of 23 plants... Out of 23 we have had: 9 hermaphrodites 10 males And 4 females..... These are not good ratios at all.....I am utterly depressed now, that's at least another 3 months of drought now...I seriously feel like just giving up weed right now.
