Regardless of how their domestic life may, and I do stress may turn out this child is still going to have to deal with a world filled with many narrow minded people. People who will ridicule him/her for the decision of the parents and trust me they will. Because of how freely information is available this kids story will haunt him/her for a lifetime. That is unless that child chooses to completely cut all ties to his/her parents once of age to do so which is exactly what I would do.

I'm sorry but this couple impresses me as very selfish by making this decision when the option of adoption is available to them.

This is 2008! Things are alot different. The trouble today is people need to realize that it is NONE of their business who is in their neighbors bed.

Same sex couples are in love just like man/woman couples. Depending on how this child is raised, we can't foresee the future.

They should tell the kid the truth.

Before he/she is like 20 and finds out that Dad is really mom, and mom always was mom. That could cause some confusion in the family.

Although, I'm still against the entire fucked up idea.

Are you on this planet people are just as ignorant and hate filled as always there just better a hiding it or not in other cases everyone has some sort of prejudice or stereo type for some other ethnic religious gender or sexual orientation it's human nature

Actually I wasn't thinkin' of the kid when I wrote this. But yeah, With the level of prejudice we got today, even kids from gay couples have a hard time. On the other end noone has to know what happened as long as there's a dad and mom around.
