Ok, so the christians were persecuted for several hundereds of years under roman law. Nero really started this needless persecution when he blamed them for setting Rome a blaze (half the city burnt down, and in the end, Nero confiscated most of the damaged property for his own luxury palace, leading people to believe he set the fire himself), but Constantine ended it, and in turn, started christianity down the road it has traveled to today. By the way, the "feeding to the lions" of christians was completely overexaggerated to draw sympathy to their cause. It happend, though not nearly on the mass scale to which its claimed.

On the flip side, Jews have been enslaved and persecuted by every civilization and culture since the dawn of human history (romans slaughtered most of the kingdom of israels population and plundered every piece of gold imaginable).
